Virat Kohli’s Rare First Time Feat In 146 Years of World Cricket

India’s ace batter Virat Kohli became the first batsman in Cricket history to score 2000 runs in seven different calendar years. He achieved this rare feat during India’s crushing defeat at the hands of South Africa in the 1st Test on Thursday.

Kohli scored 76 off 82 balls while India lost by an innings and 32 runs. With it, his total runs in 2023 reached 2006.

In the past Virat Kohli had achieved this in 2012 (2186 runs), 2014 (2286 runs), 2016 (2595 runs), 2017 (2818 runs), 2018 (2735 runs) and 2019 (2455 runs).

According to the official records of the ICC, international cricket was first played in 1877. Since then no batter other than Kohli has achieved this rare feat of what Kohli  (as per official record), has achieved the feat of scoring 2000 runs in seven different calendar years.
