Watch: PM Modi Posts Video of His Historic Entry Into Ayodhya Ram Temple

Ayodhya: A video was posted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday showing visuals of him as he stepped in to the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

In the video, the PM is seen holding a silver ‘chhattra’ offering for Lord Ram in hand as he walked slowly into the temple.

To take part in the holy pran pratistha ceremony the PM was dressed in a golden kurta, cream coloured dhoti and patka. He walked into the grabhagriha of the temple holding the silver ‘chhattra’ on a folded red dupatta.

The Prime Minister then took ‘sankalp’ for the consecration or pran pratistha ceremony.

The covered up face of the statue of Ram Lalla was unveiled in front of PM Modi. The prime minister applied kajal to Lord Ram with a gold needle and show him in the mirror.

‘Pran’ means life and ‘pratishtha’ refers to establishment. Therefore a ‘pran pratishtha’ is a Hindu religious ritual by which an idol of the deity is consecrated. So, in simple terms, ‘pran’ or life will be established in the idol before it opens eyes for the first time. Untill then, the eyes of the idol are kept closed.
