Wild Elephant Tramples Elderly Man to Death in Athagarh

Cuttack: A stray wild elephant trampled an elderly man to death in the Gurudijhatia village in the Athagarh area of Odisha’s Cuttack district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Tubur Khanka (65).

According to reports, Khanka was returning to his home after watching an opera show at Kantabandh village when he was attacked by the wild tusker that had entered the human habitat in search of food.

After receiving information, local police Forest Department officials have reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
