Woman Poisons Over 45 Animals to Avenge Her Goat’s Death!

Jagatsinghpur: A woman allegedly killed more than 45 animals by poisoning them to avenge her pet goat’s death at Bakharpur village under Tirtol police station limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.

According to reports, a 45-year-old woman identified as Dukhi Barik, intentionally poisoned around 25 crows, 20 dogs, and three cats following the death of her pet goat Tuesday.

An FIR has been lodged at the local police station against Barik regarding these killing of animals.

On Monday, a stray dog attacked and killed Barik’s pet goat. Irked by the death of her pet goat, Barik mixed poison to some food and fed it to animals and birds in her locality. The carcasses of these animals and birds were discovered on Tuesday in areas of Chatra Math, Bakharpur, Amirpur etc.

Finding these carcasses, the locals filed a complaint with the Tirtol police, demanding action against Barik.

Police have seized the bodies of dead animals and sent them for autopsy to the local veterinary hospital to determine the precise cause of death.

Till now no one has been arrested in connection to the case.
