Woman RI Arrested While Taking Bribe in Sundargarh Dist

Bhubaneswar: Lily Choudhury, the In-charge Revenue Inspector, Tasaladihi, Tangarpali Tahasil in Sundargarh district was caught red-handed and arrested by vigilance officials while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to submit an inquiry report for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land.

The entire bribe money of Rs 5,000, marked up by the vigilance sleuths, was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.

Vigilance officials also took up simultaneous searches at two locations related to the accused in the Sundargarh district to investigate the disproportionate asset (DA) angle.

A case has been registered in this connection at the Rourkela Vigilance police station under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
