Britannia’s Net Profit Falls by 40% in Oct-Dec Quarter

New Delhi: In the October-December quarter of the current financial year, the food products major Britannia Ltd reported a 40 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit in comparison to that of the previous year.

The net profit of Britannia in the Oct-Dec quarter was Rs 556 crore in the current financial year, against a net profit of Rs 937 crore in the same period of the previous year.

For the first nine months of the current financial year, the company’s consolidated revenue works out to Rs 12,532 crore, which is 3.6 per cent higher than the previous year while the operating profit increased 16 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,162 crore.
