Facebook’s Parent Meta Developing a Twitter-Like Social Media App

Facebook parent Meta is reportedly busy developing a Twitter-like social media application to enable people to post text-based updates, reported Platformer.

According to sources, this special project of Meta is codenamed “P92”. The company plans to allow users to log in it through their existing Instagram credentials, MoneyControl reported this development.

Meta is planning to have a decentralised social network for sharing text updates. It feels, there is opportunity for a separate space where creators and public figures can share timely updates about their interests.

According to reports, Instagram head Adam Mosseri is heading this ambitious project of Meta. It is still in early stages of development. The other players already in this market are Elon Musk’s Twitter, Mastodon, Post.news, and T2.

In December 2022, Instagram started a new feature called Notes, that enabled users to share short posts of up to 60 characters using only text and emojis.
