Next Annual Budget to be Presented in Odisha Assembly in 2nd Week of Feb 2024

Bhubaneswar: In the second week of February 2024, the present state government in Odisha will present its last annual budget.

Vishal Kumar Dev, principal secretary, the finance department, on Friday, wrote a letter to all departments directing them to prepare their budget estimates for this annual budget for 2024-25.  All departments will have to submit their budget estimate proposals by December 15.

As the government will present the full budget in the second week of February, Dev has told the secretaries and heads of all departments to speed up the budget preparation by taking the revised estimates for 2023-24 financial year into consideration.

Stating that the coming year’s budget estimate is likely to be 12% more than this financial year, the Finance secretary said the state is expected to maintain its present economic growth of 8% to 8.5% in the coming financial year.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has estimated the national growth at 6.5%.
