27-Yr Old Uncle Beheads 11-Yr-Old Niece in West Bengal’s Malda

Kolkata: A man was arrested in West Bengal’s Malda on charges of beheading his 11-year-old niece West Bengal’s Malda. The body and the head of the deceased, who had been missing since January 29, were found in different spots in Malda, informed investigating police officials on Thursday.

It is suspected that the victim might have been raped before being murdered. The body has been sent for post-mortem to the Malda Medical College and Hospital.

The accused, a 27-year-old man, confessed that he killed the girl to take revenge on her father who allegedly humiliated him and beat him up in public several times in the past.

The girl went missing on January 29 evening and her father lodged a police complaint with police regarding it.

The CCTV footage showed that the girl was seen hopping on the motorcycle of the accused near her house.

The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to 12 days in police custody.

This incident sparked a massive outrage and tension in Malda. People from all walks of life protested against the incident and shops remained closed demanding strict action against the accused.

All major political parties, including the TMC, BJP, and the CPI(M) staged protest rallies to condemn the incident.

Extra police forces were deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
