7-Yr-Old Boy With Blood Cancer Suffocates to Death After Dipped in Ganga in Haridwar for Miracle Cure

Haridwar: Superstitious parents wishing for a miracle cure for a seven-year-old boy, suffering from blood cancer, allegedly dipped the child in the Ganga river in Haridwar until he suffocated to death.

According to police sources, the parents of the ill-fated child opted for this superstitious act when doctors said the child had little chance to survive in the battle against cancer. The superstitious parents believed that a dip in the holy Ganga would cure the child.

At the instruction of the child’s parents, the aunt of the boy dipped him in the water in front of his parents. The panicked ailing child started to scream and later suffocated to become unconscious. People nearby rushed the child to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Haridwar police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police have decided to initiate legal action once the post-mortem report is received.
