Armed Miscreants Fire and Ransack Hotel in Balangir, 1 Arrested

Balangir: A group of three armed miscreants fired in the air and ransacked a hotel in Odisha’s Balangir district on Tuesday.

One of these miscreants was nabbed by police, while two others are absconding.

The three miscreants targeted a hotel, run by Sanjiv Nanda and Vivekananda Pati, at Gaintala on Balangir-Sonepur road on Tuesday afternoon. They ransacked the hotel, a fired nine rounds in the air to threaten the hotel employees, who ressted them.

It is alleged that after damaging the refrigerator, television, laptop, a bike and furniture. They also took away around Rs 10,000 from the cash box of the hotel.

Basing on the complaint of Sanjiv, the police initiated action and arrested one of the miscreants named Raju Chhatria. He was the driver of Sanjiv. So, past enmity is suspected to be the reason behind this violent incident.

The two other miscreants involved in the attack are absconding.
