“I am in Heaven, Enjoying it”, Declares UP Murder Accused in Live Video from Jail

Lucknow: A murder accused lodged in Bareilly Central Jail allegedly hosted a live video on a social media platform to declare that “I am in heaven and enjoying it.”

The brother of the man, who was allegedly murdered by this prisoner, met the concerned District Magistrate on Thursday to complain about this viral video.

UP police ordered an investigation into the matter.

The jail inmate, who uploaded this video has been identified as Asif, who is accused of shooting a public works department (PWD) contractor Rakesh Yadav (34) to death in broad daylight on December 2, 2019, in Shahjahanpur.

The co-accused in this murder case, Rahul Chaudhury is also lodged in Bareilly Central Jail.

In the 2-minute-long video, Asif is saying, “I am in heaven and enjoying it.”

The brother of the deceased alleged that the murder accused were getting special facilities in the jail.
