Liquor Shop Salesman Beaten to Death for Rs 10, 3 Arrested in Balangir

Balangir: Salesman of a liquor shop was beaten to death by three persons following a fight over Rs 10 in Balangir district. The three accused identified as Jogindra Behera, Biswanath Nial and Laxman Das of Kharakhara village under Khaprakhol police station limits have been arreste din connection to this murder. On Sunday night this trio had entered into an argument with the salesman of the liquor shop named Gopal Prasad, when he charged them Rs 190 for a liquor bottle that had MRP of Rs 180.

When they said that they did not have cash and wanted to make digital payment, the salesman did not accept it. This escalated the quarrel.

The three accused dragged out Gopal from the shop and beat him up ruthlessly. Critically injured Gopal was rushed to the Khaprakhol Community Health Centre (CHC) by the manager of the liquor shop. Gopal was later shifted to VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla, where he died on Monday.

Following his death, the IMFL shop manager filed a complaint at Khaprakhol police station against the three persons an dthe police arrested them.
