Mother Kills Own Baby Girl by Putting Her in Oven Instead of Crib in US

A mother killed her own baby girl in the United States’ Missouri when she put the child in an oven for a nap instead of a crib, reported SKY News. The one-month-old infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The mother of the infant, Mariah Thomas, a resident of Kansas City, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

According to reports, the baby’s mother while putting her to sleep accidentally placed her in the oven instead of the crib.

During the investigation, the grandfather of the dead child revealed that Thomas had informed him she “was putting her child down for a nap and accidentally placed the child in the oven instead of the crib”.

Mariah Thomas is currently detained at the Jackson County Detention Center. If convicted, she faces a prison sentence of 10 to 30 years.
