Swati Maliwal Assault Case: NCW Affixes Notice Outside Kejriwal’s Personal Secretary’s House

New Delhi: Tensions escalated for Bibhav Kumar, the personal secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, as the National Commission for Women (NCW) intensified efforts to serve him a summons on Friday. The controversy stems from an alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, which prompted the NCW to take cognizance of the matter.

On Thursday, the NCW issued summons to Kumar regarding the alleged incident. However, when he failed to receive the summons, a team from the NCW, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) from the Civil Lines area in New Delhi, where the alleged assault was reported, visited Kumar’s residence on Friday to deliver the Notice of Hearing in person.

According to the NCW’s statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the occupants of Kumar’s house refused to accept the notice. Consequently, the officers affixed the notice to the gate of his residence. The hearing is scheduled for May 18, at the NCW Office in New Delhi.
