Teenager Gets 10-Yr-Jail for Sodomizing 11-Yr-Old Boy in Punjab

Chandigarh: A juvenile was sentenced to 10-year rigorous imprisonment by a court in Mohali of Punjab for sodomizing an 11-year-old boy in 2019.

At the time of committing the crime, the convict was aged between 16 to 18 years, stated medical reports.

The court of additional district and sessions judge of Mohali, Ranjan Kumar Khullar also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 on the convict. In case of default in payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional years of imprisonment.

The court convicted the minor under Sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

As per the chargesheet of the case, on July 27, 2019, the 11-year-old boy met another boy, who took him to his house and sodomized him. The accused also threatened him with dire consequences if he revealed the crime to anyone.

But the victim informed it to his father, who lodged a complaint at the Mullanpur police station. The medical report confirmed the crime.
