Silk Smitha’s Biopic Announced on Her Birthday by Australian-Indian Actor Chandrika Ravi

On the occasion of the 63rd birth anniversary of Silk Smitha, Australian-Indian actor, model and dancer Chandrika Ravi announced her next film titled “Silk Smitha, The Untold Story”.  Jayaram Sankaran will direct this biopic film.

Chandrika shared the first look of this biopic in which she recreated one of Silk’s most famous photos. Dressed in a saree, with kohl-lined eyes, she is seen biting on her finger.

She wrote on social media, “Happy 63rd birthday to the timeless beauty, Silk Smitha. With the blessings of her family, it is with immense gratitude that we share with the world her untold story.”

Chandrika was born and raised in Australia before she moved to Los Angeles, US, for her acting and modelling career. She has acted in several Tamil and Telugu movies. She rose to fame in a special number called Maa Bava Manobhavalu in Balakrishna-starrer Veera Simha Reddy. She will also soon be seen in an English project titled Bollywood to Hollywood.

December 2 marks Silk’s 63rd birth anniversary. The actor acted in erotic roles in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. In 2011, Bollywood produced a movie named “The Dirty Picture”, inspired by Silk Smitha’s life. Vidya Balan played the lead role in this movie with a star cast that included Emran Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor.
