UP Woman Stabbed by Cousin For Rejecting His Marriage Proposal

Lucknow: A 25-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was allegedly stabbed by her cousin for rejecting his marriage proposal in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused has been identified as Gyan Prakash (26), the son of the injured woman’s maternal uncle. He is absconding after making the lethal attack on the woman.

The woman was staying at her maternal uncle’s house in DM Colony under the Kotwali police station of Banda. She and Prakash were students at the same law college.

On Friday evening, Prakash stabbed his cousin in the neck with a knife. The critically injured woman was admitted to the Government Medical College in Banda.

According to the initial police investigation, Prakash wanted to marry the victim. When she rejected his marriage proposal, he attacked her.
