Odisha Govt Renames ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ As ‘Panchasakha Sikhya Setu’

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government officially renamed the state-sponsored scheme ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ as ‘Panchasakha Sikhya Setu’.

Through a notification, the School and Mass Education department has declared this renaming of the programme.

Sources said the department has sent a communication to SPD, OSEPA-cum-member secretary to take necessary steps regarding the renaming. Detailed modalities and guidelines for Panchasakha Sikhya Setu will be announced soon.

The new BJP government in Odisha had announced the renaming of the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ during the presentation of the state budget in the Assembly on July 25 with a proposed outlay of Rs 332 crore.

‘Mo School Abhiyan’ was launched by the previous BJD government on November 14, 2017 as an initiative to bring together the alumni, their alma mater, and the community around government-run or government-aided schools.
