Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Post on Amitabh Bachchan’s Birthday: What’s the Controversy?

Mumbai: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 81st birthday, receiving heartfelt wishes from fans, industry colleagues, and family members. However, an Instagram post by his daughter-in-law and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has stirred some controversy.

Aishwarya took to Instagram to share a picture of her daughter, Aaradhya, alongside the iconic ‘Sholay’ actor. Her caption read, “Always, God Blesssss.” This post, however, gained attention for the wrong reasons.

Aishwarya’s post was edited from a family photo initially shared by Amitabh’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. Shweta’s original photo featured her children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda, along with Aishwarya’s daughter, Amitabh, and Jaya Bachchan, in a group picture.

Aishwarya’s edited post only showed Amitabh and Aaradhya, cropping out Jaya, Navya, and Agastya. This didn’t go unnoticed by sharp-eyed netizens, who expressed their opinions.

One Instagram user criticized, “Why did you have to crop the other kids (Navya and Agastya) from the publicly available photo? If you wanted to post just Aaradhya & Big B’s photo, you could have used another one. It’s really tasteless!”

Another comment questioned the authenticity of celebrity wishes, saying, “The wishes seem so plastic. Wonder how celebrities with all the privacy in the world have friction in families.”

Reddit users also weighed in on the situation, with one expressing surprise, “But is this for real? In our homes, we have disputes, but we don’t air our dirty laundry on the internet. Where’s the first family of Bollywood class.”

On the other hand, some comments suggested that the issue was being overanalyzed and that Aishwarya has always posted pictures of Amitabh and Aaradhya while wishing him, as she did this time as well.
