Bhairava is the Character Played by Prabhas In Kalki 2898 AD

Mumbai: The character played by Prabhas in the upcoming sci-fi fantasy-adventure film Kalki 2898 AD is called Bhairava. The makers of the movie announced it on Friday alongside a new poster featuring the south star in a superhero avatar.

“From the future streets of Kasi, Introducing ‘BHAIRAVA’ from #Kalki2898AD. In theatres worldwide on May 9, 2024,” production house Vyjayanthi Movies wrote alongside the poster.

The poster shows a side profile of Prabhas in a black-and-brown ensemble and a futuristic headset. With hair tied up into a bun, the actor flaunts his triceps. His arms carry two black stripes.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Prabhas wrote, “His name is…… ‘BHAIRAVA’.”

“A modern-day avatar of Vishnu, a Hindu god, who is believed to have descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces,” reads the official synopsis of the film on IMDb.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD also has Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Santhosh Narayanan is its music director and its cinematography is done by Djordje Stojiljkovic.

Prabhas and Disha recently flew off to Italy to shoot a new song for the film.
