Amitabh Bachchan is Ashwatthama in Sci-Fi Drama Kalki 2898 AD

New Delhi: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as Ashwatthama, the son of Guru Drona in the Mahabharata in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD.

As per the Mahabharata, Ashwatthama is one of the immortals. A blink-and-miss still of Amitabh de-aged into a young avatar was seen in a new footage, called ‘Introducing Ashwatthama,’ released on Sunday night.

It showed an old Amitabh conversing with a young boy how he’s lived through the ages. As rushes of his life are shown, a particular still features a de-aged version of the megastar. A radiating, yellow stone adorned his forehead.

The sci-fi flick is helmed by Nag Ashwin, is claimed to be a mythology-inspired sci-fi extravaganza set in the future. Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani are also a part of the Kalki 2898 AD.

The teaser was also shared by Amitabh Bachchan on his Instagram feed. Earlier, over the weekend, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD shared a poster of Big B’s character from the film and wrote, “The time has come to know who he is.”

Kalki 2898 AD will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
