Fashion Designer Rohit Bal on Ventilator Support in Critical Condition

New Delhi: Noted fashion designer Rohit Bal has been put on ventilator support in the ICU of Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital for his cardiac problem.

The 62-year-old fashion designer reportedly faced the problem of alcohol addiction. In November 2022, his condition worsened and he was admitted to Medanta Hospital.

Born in Srinagar, Rohit Bal is the most renowned Indian fashion designer. In February 2010, Mr Bal faced a heart attack that required an emergency angioplasty.

Mr Bal won ‘Designer of the Year’ at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006 and the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Awards in 2001. His works were also acknowledged in 2012 when he was named Lakme Grand Finale Designer.
