‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix

Mumbai: Netflix has greenlit a second season of the popular comedy chat show “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” just months after its successful debut. The announcement came as the first season prepares to wrap up on June 22.

The star-studded inaugural season featured high-profile guests like Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, actor Ranbir Kapoor, cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, and global music sensation Ed Sheeran.

Host Kapil Sharma expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, stating, “We’re thankful for the global love and promise to return soon with fresh episodes.”

Netflix India’s Tanya Bami praised Sharma’s comedic prowess and his unique ability to resonate with audiences, cementing his status as a comedy legend in Indian entertainment.

The show’s ensemble cast, including Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur, contribute to its widespread appeal. Archana Puran Singh’s trademark presence on her ‘kursi’ (chair) adds to the charm.

While an exact premiere date for season two remains unannounced, fans can expect new episodes within months.
