In Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ Sara Ali Khan’s Radio Station Fights British 

Mumbai: In Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming patriotic film ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ produced by Karan Johar, Sara Ali Khan will be seen as a young freedom fighter Usha Rani. In the movie, she launches an underground radio station to unite the youth against British colonial rule.

The trailer of Dharmatic Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video’s Ae Watan Mere Watan was released on Monday.

The two-minute-52-second-long trailer shows Sara in a sari-clad avatar from pre-independence India.

The movie is set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement of 1942 and the trailer begins with people trying their best to tune a radio and receive the news of the day.

Sara as Usha is shown creating her own radio in a dimly-lit room at dead of night. Usha’s goal is to cater authentic reports of the daily happenings in the country as opposed to the British-supervised newspapers.

Produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, Ae Watan Mere Watan is directed by Daud and Ek thi Daayan helmer Kannan Iyer. The film is slated to premiere on Prime Video on March 21.
