‘Laapataa Ladies’ Outperforms ‘Animal’ on Netflix

Mumbai: Laapataa Ladies directed by Kiran Rao has outperformed Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal on Netflix. According to reports, Laapataa Ladies garnered a record 13.8 million views on Netflix after its OTT release only a month ago. Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has garnered 13.6 million views till date in around four months.

Animal was released on Netflix on January 26.

Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies is an adaptation of Biplab Goswami’s acclaimed novel. Animal had faced some backlash for its controversial stance on gender roles, yet it garnered Rs 918 crore at the global box office.

Earlier, Kiran Rao and Sandeep Reddy Vanga were engaged in a back and forth regarding misogyny in movies.
