No Smoking Please, South Star Mahesh Babu Suffers Migraine Smoking Bidi for “Guntur Karaam”

Hyderabad: South star Mahesh Babu suffered health challenges while filming smoking scenes for his latest movie “Guntur Kaaram.”

He revealed that smoking beedi in one of the scenes led him to suffer severe migraines. Mahesh Babu said that the initial smoking of a traditional beedi caused him considerable discomfort. He communicated it to director Trivikram Srinivas. The director found the solution came in the form of an ‘ayurvedic beedi,’ rolled from clove leaves without the use of tobacco.

“I don’t smoke, and I won’t encourage smoking as well. It was an ayurvedic beedi made of clove leaves. Initially, they gave me a real beedi, and I got a migraine. I went and told Trivikram [Srinivas], and he was thinking about what to do. Then he researched and got me this ayurvedic beedi, which I found nice. It was made of clove leaves and had a mint flavor. There was no tobacco in it,” Mahesh Babu stated.

“Guntur Kaaram,” was released on January 12, 2024. It also has Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and Jagapathi Babu in its star cast.

The film has already gained Rs 108 crore, becoming the highest-grossing south film of the year.
