Bengaluru: Superstar Rajinikanth made an unexpected visit to a Bengaluru bus depot, where he had once worked as a conductor. The superstar engaged with BMTC depot drivers, conductors, and helpers, fostering a memorable interaction.

Rajinikanth, a towering figure in Indian cinema, boasts a filmography of 160+ movies. His recent release, ‘Jailer,’ has raked in a remarkable ₹600 crore globally, showcasing his enduring popularity.

Hailing from Bengaluru, Rajinikanth’s journey included various odd jobs before his stint as a bus conductor. His innate talent for entertainment shone through, captivating passengers and planting the idea of his acting potential.

His distinct style, while issuing tickets and change, garnered attention even before his stardom. Passengers would opt for buses he operated, foregoing empty ones.

Transitioning to Kannada stage plays, Rajinikanth notably portrayed the antagonist Duryodhan, a role that hinted at his future success. Formal training followed, with Rajinikanth’s entry into the Madras Film Institute in 1973.

A pivotal stage performance captured director K Balachander’s notice, leading to Rajinikanth’s Tamil cinema debut in 1975’s ‘Apoorva Raagangal,’ a milestone that set his illustrious career in motion.
