Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases; there are many types of cancer. At the same time, breast cancer is the most common after skin cancer in women; it is believed that one out of every 10 women in India is suffering from breast cancer.

According to the data released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in February 2021, breast cancer has overtaken lung cancer, which is why women are now more prone to breast cancer than lung cancer. Every 4 minutes in India, where a woman comes to know about breast cancer, every 8 minutes a woman also dies due to this dangerous disease.

There can be many reasons for breast cancer

Breast cancer can also be due to obesity and age, apart from this, there can be many reasons for breast cancer.  According to several studies, women who take a plant-based ‘unhealthy’ diet have a higher risk of breast cancer. Refined grains, such as white rice, flour and bread, are included in this diet. In this study, doctors found that women who took a healthy diet were significantly less likely to develop breast cancer.

Different people have different symptoms of breast cancer. Some people have symptoms; some people have no symptoms at all.

Some warning signs of breast cancer are-

  • New lump in the breast or armpit
  • Thickening or swelling of part of the breast
  • Irritation of the skin of the breast
  • Peeling of the skin of the nipple area or breast
  • Pain in nipple area
  • Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including milk
  • Pain in any area of the breast

Keep in mind that these symptoms can also occur with other conditions that are not cancer

According to the Health Agency, there are many ways with the help of which one can reduce the risk of the breast cancer. Breastfeeding, regular physical activity, controlling weight, not drinking alcohol, not smoking tobacco and cigarettes, avoiding long-term use of hormones, avoiding excessive radiation is very important. In these ways, you can avoid the risk of breast cancer.
