Amebadkar’s Tallest Statue Abroad to be Unveiled in US on Oct 14

The tallest statue of BR Ambedkar, outside India will be inaugurated in Maryland of US on October 14.

The 19-foot statue, named ‘Statue of Equality,’ is part of the Ambedkar International Centre (AIC) being built on 13-acre land in Accokeek city of Maryland.

According to the AID, this is the largest statue of Ambedkar outside India. He was the principal architect of India’s Constitution. Ambedkar played a key role in the freedom movement, the social movement that fought for the rights of Dalits and the untouchables.

This statue has been constructed by renowned artist and sculptor Ram Sutar, who built the statue of Sardar Patel, called as Statue of Unity, installed on an island in Narmada near the the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat.
