Burglars Target Hindu Temple in California, Sparking Community Concerns

California: A Hindu temple in California was burglarized on Monday, leaving the local Indian community in distress. The Hari Om Radha Krishna Mandir in Parkway, California, was targeted by burglars at approximately 2:15 AM, according to the Sacramento Bee newspaper.

Surveillance footage revealed the presence of six suspects on the temple premises, with two of them inside the temple itself when the police were notified. The burglars stole a donation collection box, which weighed close to 100 pounds and reportedly contained thousands of dollars.

The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), an advocacy organization based in the United States, has condemned the burglary and urged the Sacramento Police to treat the incident seriously and explore the possibility of it being a hate crime or a violation of a sacred space. CoHNA has also called upon the public to assist in identifying the suspects.

The theft has deeply impacted the local Indian community, which values the temple as a place of support and worship. Guru Maharaj, the temple priest, expressed his concern, stating, “It’s a very big hit to our community, and we’re here to help people out.”

The Sacramento Police Department is actively investigating the burglary. No arrests have been made as of yet.
