Furious Pakistan Expels Iranian Ambassador, Recalls Envoy After Balochistan Airstrike

Islamabad: Pakistan has taken diplomatic actions in response to the recent Iranian air strikes on the Balochistan province. On Wednesday, Islamabad recalled its top diplomat from Iran, shortly after expelling the Iranian representative from its territory. The tension has led to the suspension of all high-level visits, both ongoing and planned.

A spokesperson from the Foreign Office announced the recall of the Pakistani ambassador from Iran, stating that the Iranian counterpart, currently travelling, may not return for the time being. The move comes in the wake of Iranian air strikes targeting the Jaish al-Adl terror group in Balochistan, a province that shares a 1,000-km-long border with Iran.

While Iran claims the strikes were directed at a terrorist organization, Pakistan strongly condemns the incident. The Pakistani government has labelled the air attack in the Panjgur region as an “unprovoked violation” of its airspace, deeming it a “completely unacceptable” act with potential “serious consequences.” Additionally, Pakistan asserts that two children lost their lives in the airstrike.
