Five New Murder Cases Against Bangladesh’s Ex-PM Hasina, She Now Faces 89 Cases

Five new murder cases have been registered against Bangladesh’s ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her former cabinet minister for the killing of five people during the quota reform protests in the country.

These new murder cases were filed before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday. Now the 76-year-old former PM of Bangladesh faces 89 cases, the Dhaka Tribune reported.

Five more murder cases have been filed against Hasina, party general secretary Obaidul Quader, and 339 others, in connection with the deaths of five people during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the Tribune reported.

Relatives of the victims lodged the cases in different metropolitan magistrate courts in Dhaka on Monday.
