Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf Dies

Dubai: Former President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) passes away after a prolonged illness on Sunday.

According to Pakistan’s Geo news,  He died at the age of 79 at a hospital in Dubai.

The former military ruler passed away after a prolonged illness. He was undergoing treatment at American Hospital Dubai.

A senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Fawad Hussain, took to Twitter to extend his condolences and wrote, “Pervez Musharraf passed away, he was a great person, always Pakistan first was his thought and ideology. May God have mercy on him.”

He was diagnosed with the life-threatening disease Amyloidosis in 2018 in the UAE. Amyloidosis is a rare disease that occurs when an abnormal protein builds up in organs and interferes with normal function.

Gen. Musharraf had left for Dubai in March 2016 for medical treatment and never returned to Pakistan.

He was declared a fugitive in the assassination case of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and the Red Mosque cleric killing case.
