Indian-Origin Elderly Woman Stabbed to Death by Youth in London

A 66-year-old Indian-origin woman was stabbed to death by a 22-year-old youth, as she waited at a bus stop in north-west London. The youth was charged with the murder and was remanded in custody at a hearing on Tuesday.

The deceased identified as Anita Mukhey worked part-time for the National Health Service (NHS) as a medical secretary. She was waiting at the Burnt Oak Broadway bus stop in the Edgware area of London last week when the accused Jalal Debella stabbed her fatally in the chest and neck.

She died on the spot. Debella was arrested on May 9 and charged with Mukhey’s murder and also for possession of an offensive weapon.

Anita Mukhey was a married mother and grandmother.
