Lahore HC Halts Imran Khan’s Arrest Till Tomorrow 10 AM

Islamabad: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed police to stop its operation outside former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s residence till 10 am tomorrow (March 16),

The Dawn reported that soon after the court’s direction and withdrawal of personnel of law enforcement agencies, supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cheered and celebrated outside Imran Khan’s residence.

Police arrived at Imran Khan’s residence on Tuesday to arrest him for his alleged involvement in the Toshakhana case.

Geo News reported that at least 54 policemen and eight civilians were injured in the clashes that have been ongoing since Tuesday afternoon. Imran Khan’s supporters clashed repeatedly with police throughout Tuesday night.

Television footage showed police shelling the protesters, baton-charging and firing tear gas shells at them.

Imran Khan has been in the crosshairs of government agencies for buying gifts, including an expensive Graff, wristwatch he had received as the premier at a discounted price from the state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for profit.
