At Least 10 Killed as Malaysian Private Jet Crashes on Expressway Near Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur: A charter plane crashed onto an expressway near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday, killing at least 10 people.

The plane, a Beechcraft 1900D, had taken off from Langkawi International Airport and was en route to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. It made contact with Subang Air Traffic Control Tower at 2:47 PM local time and was granted landing clearance a minute later.

However, the plane crashed onto the expressway at 2:51 PM, colliding with a car and a motorcycle. All six passengers and two crew members on board the plane were killed, as were the occupants of the car and motorcycle.

The cause of the crash is not yet known. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia is investigating the incident.

The crash caused major traffic disruptions in the area. The expressway has been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

This is the second fatal plane crash in Malaysia this year. In January, a Malaysia Airlines flight crashed into the sea off the coast of the country, killing all 227 people on board.
