Man Books Entire Row of Seats for Giant Service Dog on American Airlines, Shocks Passengers

A 27-year-old man in the U.S. flew his enormous Great Dane, Darwin, from Los Angeles to New York on an American Airlines flight. Gabriel Bogner reserved three seats for himself and his five-year-old canine, ensuring comfort for the journey.

Darwin was too big for the airline’s largest cargo box, so Bogner purchased an entire row of seats to accommodate the dog. Initially, the flight attendants asked Darwin to stay on the floor, but they eventually allowed her to sit on the seats due to her size.

Bogner, a startup founder with Crohn’s disease, trained Darwin as a service animal to provide emotional support. Some people on TikTok questioned Darwin’s service dog status due to the perceived lack of formal training, but Bogner said that the dog helps him during distressing moments.

Despite not performing advanced tasks, Darwin assists Bogner by accompanying him to the restroom and alleviating stomach discomfort. The smooth flight with the amiable crew made this unique journey memorable for both Darwin and Bogner.
