Man Pays Rs 17 Lakh For World Tour; Cruise Leaves Without Him

Manila: Imagine your dismay if you pay a hefty sum for a luxurious trip, but your cruise departs without you. So goes the tale of a man who spent £17,500 (around Rs. 17 lakh) for a tour around the world but ended up stuck in the Philippines.

Notably, Christopher Chapel had some medical issues and spent several days on the ship before disembarking in the Philippines. While on the excursion, he began to feel queasy and dizzy, so he made the decision to leave for a short time in order to receive medical attention.

The ship doctor advised getting some tests done.

The test findings were not very alarming, and the doctors diagnosed a mild case of heatstroke as the problem. However, by this point, his ship had already departed from the Philippine port.

The 72-year-old passenger, who was travelling with his wife, claimed that when he got in touch with the cruise line after it had left port, they informed him that his medical condition was considered critical, making it difficult for him to go back.

He insisted that no one even examined him before sending him off the ship.
