Messi’s Room During FIFA WC 2022 To Be Converted Into Museum

Doha: Qatar University has announced that the hotel room of Argentina captain Lionel Messi will be transformed into a mini museum to honour Argentina’s victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Argentinian team’s accommodations during the competition were shared in a series of images by Qatar University. Lionel Messi resided in B201 for the competition; he eventually shared it with Sergio Aguero. Messi’s room at the university residence will also no longer be open to visitors, but all of the items the Paris Saint-Germain player left behind will still be kept there in their full splendour for students and foreign tourists.

Qatar University posted the images on Facebook along with the announcement that Lionel Messi’s room at the Qatar World Cup will become a mini museum. To match the colour of the Argentinian team’s uniform, the entire area has been painted in a blue and white theme. The university has also hung pictures of jerseys with the names of numerous players written over them all over the rooms.

Notably, the Argentinian team opted not to stay in any 5-star hotels but instead on the sizable university campus.

On December 18, in one of the most exciting finals in tournament history, Argentina defeated France on penalties to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The title win fulfilled Messi’s lifelong ambition to lift the World Cup Trophy, which had eluded him up until this point in his career.

Further, Messi became the first player to win the FIFA Golden Ball award more than once after being chosen as the tournament’s Player of the Year.
