Rs 12.7 Billion Amassed by Pak Army Chief Bajwa’s Family!

During his six-year tenure, family members and relatives of the Pakistan Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa became billionaires, claimed a Pakistani website. As per the website, these family members of General Bajwa have amassed assets worth Rs 12.7 billion.

This revelation has been made by The FactFocus website, a Pakistan-based digital media news organization. It has provided wealth statements and tax records of Gen Bajwa and his family from 2013 to 2021.

According to the report of the website based on the alleged tax records of Gen Bajwa’s family, they own assets and businesses within Pakistan and abroad, whose total value is Rs 12.7 billion.

Gen Bajwa is scheduled to retire by the end of November 2022. This revelation has come up just a few days before his retirement day.

As per the claims of the Pak website, Gen Bajwa’s wife, Ayesha Amjad had no assets in 2016. But her assets and earnings reached Rs 2.2 billion in six years. During his tenure, Gen Bajwa also received residential plots, commercial plots and houses from the Pakistan Army.

The report alleged that the total worth of declared assets of Gen Bajwa’s daughter-in-law reached Rs 1271 million on November 2, 2018 from zero in October 2018.

Interestingly on Monday, Pakistan Finance Minister ordered an investigation of “illegal and unwarranted leakage of tax information of the family members of General Qamar Javed Bajwa”.

Pakistan Army has preferred to remain mum regarding this report on the website.
