Ambedkar’s Statue to be Installed on Supreme Court Premises on National Law Day

New Delhi: A statue of BR Ambedkar,  one of the chief architects of the Indian Constitution will be installed on the Supreme Court premises, on Constitution Day, or National Law Day, on November 26.

As per reports, this statue is being installed on the Supreme Court premises after 76 years of Independence, following an initiative by the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

This statue of Baba Saheb will be in a lawyer’s dress, is 7-feet-tall on a 3-feet pedestal. A copy of the Constitution will be in his hand.

This statue was made by sculptor Naresh Kumawat. Till now there are only two statues installed at the Supreme Court complex. One is a mural of Mother India, another of Mahatma Gandhi.
