Amul Adds ‘Rizz’ to its Butter Lexicon in Witty Social Media Post

Amul, known for its creative and topical social media posts, has playfully incorporated the Oxford English Dictionary’s ‘word of the year 2023,’ which is ‘Rizz.’ This annual competition by Oxford aims to spotlight newly coined words with lasting cultural significance. Competing terms included ‘Swiftie,’ ‘Situationship,’ and ‘De-influencing.’

Amul’s take on ‘Rizz’ features the iconic Amul girl alongside a butter slab and alphabets captioned: “Irizzistable treat! Amul – Word reserved for butter.”

The word ‘Rizz’ denotes style, charm, or attractiveness, specifically referring to the ability to attract a romantic or sexual partner. The word’s origin is thought to be derived from ‘charisma,’ akin to ‘fridge’ from ‘refrigerator.’

The term gained traction through social media influencer Kai Cent, known for live-streaming video games, interacting with celebrities, pranking friends and more.
