6 New Airports Built In Last 7 Years In India: Govenment

New Delhi: The government has built six more international airports in the nation through the past seven years, including two already-existing airports that were transformed into international airports.

Two existing airports, Vijayawada and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, and four new airports: Kannur in Kerala, Shirdi in Maharashtra, Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, and Mopa in Goa. This was stated in a written reply that General V. K. Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, provided yesterday in the Lok Sabha.

Prior to 2014, the Minister claimed that there were 24 international airports in the nation. He said that in 2017, Vijayawada and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, two already-existing airports, were designated as international airports.
