Looters Attack Jewellery Shop Owner & Daughter During Loot Attempt in Berhampur

Berhampur: On Thursday night, masked miscreants attacked a jewellery store owner and his daughter during a robbery attempt at Bazar Sahi in Aska of the Ganjam district.

Prabhakar Patra, the proprietor of Mahalakshmi Jewellers, was reportedly at home next to the jewellery shop when four masked miscreants riding three motorbikes arrived.

Attacking Patra and his daughter after breaking into the house, they fled with the stolen goods. The loot’s specifics, however, are yet to be ascertained.

Patra suffered serious wounds as a result of the assault. He was rushed to the Aska Hospital which further referred him to the MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur for better treatment.

Aska Police have opened an investigation into the occurrence.
