Air India Crew Member Assaulted by Intruder in London Hotel, Police Investigation On

London: An Air India female crew member was allegedly assaulted by an intruder in her hotel room in London, according to an official statement released by the airline on Sunday.

The incident occurred at the Radisson Red Hotel near Heathrow Airport, where the airline staff had previously expressed safety concerns.

The intruder, identified as a homeless man, reportedly entered the crew member’s room, physically assaulted her, and prevented her from escaping. He allegedly hit her with a clothes hanger and dragged her across the floor. Her colleagues heard her screams and rushed to her aid.

The victim was taken to the hospital following the incident, and the assailant was arrested by the police. A police investigation is currently ongoing.

“We are deeply anguished by the unlawful intrusion that affected one of our crew members at a hotel operated by a major international chain,” an Air India spokesperson stated. The airline emphasised its commitment to supporting the crew member and working with local authorities to ensure justice is served.

Air India also mentioned it is collaborating with the hotel management to prevent future incidents. While the airline has not officially confirmed reports of a possible sexual assault, some sources have suggested the attack may have involved sexual violence.
