1 Terrorist Neutralized in Encounter with Security Forces in J&K’s Kulgam

Srinagar: In a successful operation on Tuesday, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district eliminated an Al-Badr terrorist. During the operation in the Hoowra area, a brave Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel sustained injuries.

Based on specific intelligence, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Hawoora area during the night. The objective was to apprehend the terrorist believed to be hiding in the region. However, upon approaching the suspected location, the terrorist opened fire without discrimination, injuring a J-K police personnel. The injured officer has been promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Despite being given an opportunity to surrender, the terrorist continued firing at the security forces, leading to a retaliatory response. Consequently, the encounter resulted in the elimination of the local terrorist affiliated with the proscribed outfit, Al-Badr. The deceased terrorist has been identified as Adil Majeed Lone, a resident of Akbarabad Hawoora, Kulgam.

The search operation yielded significant findings, including incriminating material, firearms, ammunition, a pistol with live rounds, and a grenade. These items have been recovered from the encounter site and will be utilized for further investigation.
