Chhattisgarh NEET Aspirant Ends Life A Day Before Exam

Bhilai: A 21-year-old National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) candidate allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself the day before the test in the Chhattisgarh city of Bhilai, according to police. Prabhat Kumar Singh, a Bemetara district native, was named as the deceased NEET aspirant.

The incident happened on Saturday inside the victim’s rented room in the Pragati Nagar area, which is within the jurisdiction of the Newai police station. Singh was attending a nearby coaching centre and was preparing for the NEET (UG) 2023 exam since September 2022.

No suicide note was recovered by the police from Singh’s room, the cops informed. However, preliminary investigation suggests that he may have taken the drastic step as a result of exam stress, the officials remarked. The National Entrance Completion Eligibility Test (NEET) (UG) exam was held on Sunday, May 8.
