Congress Serves Show Cause Notices to 150 Madhya Pradesh Leaders for “Anti-Party” Activities

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Congress’s disciplinary committee on Friday sent show-cause notices to around 150 local leaders for their alleged involvement in “anti-party” activities during the November 2023 assembly polls.

These leaders have to respond within 10 days, otherwise, the Congress party will take strict action against them including expulsion from the party.

This move by the Congress comes after the party managed to win just 66 seats in the 230-member House in the assembly elections. Through this move the Madhya Pradesh Congress wants to reorganize the party before the Lok Sabha elections.

The majority of the 164 Congress candidates, who lost the assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, alleged that they were defeated due to “internal sabotage.”

In a press release, the disciplinary committee chief and MPCC treasurer Ashok Singh warned that at the disciplinary committee’s meeting, its members endorsed the decision to show the door to party rebels who contested the assembly polls.
