Delhi’s Jama Masjid Bans Entry Of Women Coming Alone To Mosque

New Delhi: The Jama Masjid administration in Delhi has banned the entry of women coming alone to the mosque.

It said that in order for women to gain access to the Jama Masjid complex, they need to be accompanied by a male member of their family.

Speaking to media persons in this regard, Sabiullah Khan, the Public Relations Officer said, “The ban is to prevent women from shooting videos for social media as it disturbs the people who are there to offer namaaz. No restrictions on families or married couples.”

Meanwhile, DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal expressed strong discontent with the ban and has issued a notice to the Imam of the Jama Masjid over the issue.
